Todd Marek
Doctor of Tibetan Medicine

Todd is a Chicagoland native and graduate of the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine and completed an internship at the Tso Ngön University College of Tibetan Medicine and the Tibetan Medical Hospital in Xīníng, Qīnghǎi Prefecture, China.  He has held a longterm interest in yogic systems and their overlap with traditional healing systems.  After years of studying Hatha Yoga and its relationship with Āyurveda,  Todd began studying the Tibetan Dzogchen teachings as taught by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu and other Tibetan teachers.  Recognizing the connection between these Tibetan yogas and Tibetan medicine and seeing medical practice as an extension of the Mahāyāna practice of engaged compassion led him to study at the Shang Shung Institute.  In addition to being a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine, he is also a Yoga Alliance certified teacher of Hatha Yoga, and a licensed massage therapist.  Besides his medical studies and practice he is completing a degree in Socio-cultural and Linguistic Anthropology with an areal focus on Tibet and Tibetan languages.
